Two Western Mass Juveniles Nabbed With Guns, Drugs, Police Say

Two Western Mass juveniles have been arrested for alleged possession of firearms and illegal narcotics.

According to Pittsfield Police, on Wednesday, May 26, police received word that a man was in possession of a gun at a residence on Francis Avenue in Pittsfield. 

Arriving officers initiated an investigation and determined that three males had fled the residence and engaged in suspicious activity as they traveled through nearby properties on foot, said Lieutenant Gary Traversa.  

 A short time later, two juvenile males that matched witness descriptions were detained by officers. A search of the area netted the discovery of two firearms and illegal narcotics which was tied to the fleeing youths, Traversa said.

Both juveniles were arrested and charged with:

  • Possession to distribute Class B drug
  • Receiving stolen property
  • Possession of ammunition without FID card
  • Possession of large capacity feeding device
  • Carrying a firearm without a license

Members of the Pittsfield Police Detective Bureau, Crime Scene Unit, and K9 Unit assisted Patrol with the investigation.
